"There are several things that we like about Producers. First, the ease of
working with Producers -- we tell our Agent that we want to move some hogs and he takes care of the rest (including finding the best market and ordering a truck to take them). About 2 or 3 days later, the check is in the bank. Second, our yield is up from 73 - 74% to 77 - 79%, unbelievable, and our grade went up over 2 points.
One load was split and some taken to a local market where we received $47; the other was sold through Producers and we cleared a little over $50, after trucking, pork check-off and commission was taken off. We believe that if all of the Iowa Premium shareholders would use this method of selling, we could achieve abundant rewards for the independent farmer."
